NAMUTECH Appoints Kim Hwa-joong as President, Transitions to Co-CEO Structure

NAMUTECH announced on the 2nd that it has appointed Kim Hwa-joong as its new President to strengthen competitiveness in its cloud and AI transformation (AX) business. The company explained that the appointment is intended to combine its technological capabilities with large-scale SI (System Integration) project experience, enhancing both market responsiveness and execution capability.

Kim Hwa-joong is an IT expert with 25 years of experience across global consulting firms and leading domestic SI companies. He holds degrees from Seoul National University and the KAIST EMBA program, and has extensive experience spanning consulting, system implementation, business development, and organizational management. He has held key roles at major firms such as Samsung SDS, Accenture, and SK C&C, leading digital transformation projects across financial and industrial sectors.

Starting April 1, Kim will oversee overall strategy and operations at NAMUTECH and drive business expansion based on an “AX full-stack” approach. The company plans to expand industry-specific applications across manufacturing, finance, and the public sector, centered on its existing portfolio, including the cloud-native PaaS platform ‘Cocktail Cloud,’ the enterprise AI agent platform ‘NAA (NAMU AI Agent),’ and the edge AI solution ‘NEA (NAMU Edge AI),’ which is essential for building AI infrastructure in smart factories and highly secure financial environments.

In addition, NAMUTECH aims to expand partnerships and build an ecosystem that goes beyond infrastructure supply to deliver AI and cloud-based platform businesses that are directly applied to real-world operations.

Kim stated, “By combining NAMUTECH’s technological strengths with field-driven business experience, we will accelerate business expansion centered on AI and cloud. Through close collaboration with our organization, we will establish a stable operational foundation and continue sustainable growth.”

A NAMUTECH official added, “Kim’s appointment will serve as an opportunity to strengthen both technological and execution capabilities. Through a co-CEO structure, we plan to further enhance our responsiveness to the global AX market.”

The company plans to formally appoint Kim Hwa-joong as co-CEO following shareholder and board approval procedures, transitioning to a co-CEO management structure.
