NAMUTECH to develop digital health medical devices related to hearing loss

NAMUTECH is developing digital health medical devices related to hearing loss.

NAMUTECH was selected as the host organization for the ‘2022 Artificial Intelligence Learning Data Construction Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and promoted by the Korea Intelligence Information Society Promotion Agency (NIA). NAMUTECH will carry out the ‘Sensory Machine Data I’ project to develop a digital health medical device (Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)) for diagnosing hearing loss.

NAMUTECH will cooperate with 13 metropolitan and regional hospitals. Previously, NAMUTECH formed a consortium with Eluon INS, MTEG, and Cybertech.

By securing 15,000 speech and hearing test data and 50,000 eardrum image data required for AI learning model development from 13 hospitals, it plans to develop high-quality learning data and build AI models and develop AI models.

Ultimately, the project will be used to develop a digital health medical device (SaMD) that will diagnose hearing loss through voice and tympanic/middle ear disease through tympanic endoscopy images. NAMU Intelligence, a NAMUTECH subsidiary specializing in AI, will carry out the project.

“The speech hearing test result data and eardrum image data constructed through this project will be the largest AI learning data in Korea and abroad,” said Kim KyungWoo, managing director of NAMUTECH. We will contribute to product development,” he said.

“The speech hearing test result data and eardrum image data constructed through this project will be the largest AI learning data in and out of Korea,” said Kim, KyoungWoo, a managing director of NAMUTECH. He added, “We will build quality data to contribute to domestic hearing-related research and product development.”
