NAMUTECH Launches Cloud-Based Virtual Desktop Operation Service

NAMUTECH (CEO Chul Jung) announced on the 13th the launch of ‘NCC Workspace’, a service for managing virtual machines (VMs) based on public cloud infrastructure.

NCC Workspace is a service designed to operate Cloud-Based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), allowing for the automated management of VDI services in public cloud environments like Microsoft Azure quickly and easily.

Users can access their work environment from any device, including PCs and laptops, anytime and anywhere through the NCC Workspace page.

Furthermore, sensitive user personal information is securely managed through encryption, and unauthorized access is blocked by applying two-factor authentication when accessing externally. Since no data is stored on the user access devices but in the cloud infrastructure, it prevents internal data leakage.

While the expansion period for a traditional physical infrastructure-based VDI environment takes about 1 to 3 months, a VDI system utilizing public clouds like Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) can be quickly set up. Unused infrastructure can be swiftly returned, offering advantages in operational efficiency and cost reduction.

The product consists of various services including a user access page, an administrator page, and backend batches for automation, providing an automated service for VM allocation and return based on Citrix MCS (Machine Creation Services).

IT infrastructure managers can conveniently operate VM allocation and return through a dashboard that monitors user status. Additionally, VM access history and HR information can be managed in conjunction.

NCC Workspace provides ▲user authentication and VM access features ▲application/extension/return processing for dedicated/public VMs ▲file import into VM and file export to external PCs through approval ▲HTML5-based VM access using a browser without a dedicated app.

A representative from NAMUTECH R&D Department stated, “NCC Workspace optimizes VDI operation automation and management efficiency in a cloud environment. Going forward, we plan to enhance operational data analysis and issue management features and develop dedicated access apps for Android and iOS based on HTML5.”
