NAMUTECH announced on March 30th that it has won a 3-year government contract worth KRW 10 billion for “Technical support, maintenance, and management of open cloud platform.” The project, commissioned by the National Information Society Agency (NIA), aims to promote the spread of an open cloud platform known as K-PaaS and activate a domestic, private-sector-led platform ecosystem.

NAMUTECH will develop and upgrade container and application platforms based on Kubernetes and provide technical support as part of the project. It will also conduct various IaaS validations and compatibility tests between portals and services on the upgraded open cloud platform.

In addition, NAMUTECH is responsible for establishing a cloud-native professional training and certification system, including the development and training of human resources for the Open Cloud Platform Alliance (OPA) as a chairperson.

NAMUTECH’s Executive Director, Hongjoon Kim, stated, “Winning this project with our PaaS partner companies will solidify Namutech’s position as a leading company in the K-PaaS-centered cloud transition and cloud-native technology implementation. We will pioneer the domestic and foreign PaaS market by expanding and developing the market through the reference model of K-PaaS, utilizing Cocktail Cloud technology.”
Namutech’s participation in this government project is expected to expand the K-PaaS ecosystem and boost the company’s profile as a key player in the cloud platform market in South Korea.
