KACI holds its First Service Platform (PaaS) Support Committee Meeting

The Korea Cloud Industry Association (KACI) announced on the 29th that the “Service Platform (PaaS) Support Committee” under the Connect Cloud Alliance (CCA) held its first committee meeting.

KACI has five committees under the CCA, including the PaaS Support Committee, the Software as a Service (SaaS) Support Committee, the Cloud Standard Application Programming Interface (API) Working Group, the Cloud Global Expansion Support Committee, and the Cloud Security Support Committee.

The PaaS Support Committee held its first meeting today to expand and activate domestic PaaS support in 2023. While there have been launches of SaaS or software integration agreements, it is the first time that private PaaS companies have come together to form a group.

Chairman Chul Jung of NAMUTECH pointed out during the meeting that despite the high growth potential of PaaS, the domestic service market still needs to improve compared to overseas markets. He emphasized that they will take action to spread awareness of PaaS and activate the market in Korea.

The PaaS Support Committee has set four operational objectives: expanding and activating the PaaS market, fostering PaaS to secure domestic service competitiveness, discovering and spreading PaaS utilization cases, and solving problems through policy support. The committee plans to establish detailed strategies and directions to promote its activities based on these objectives.

NAMUTECH serves as the Chairman of the PaaS Support Committee, and other participating companies include KT Cloud SK C&C, Mantech, SecureLink, SNET Systems, Openmaru, Uber Systems, Innogrid, Claion, and Cloit.
